Enterprise
From paddock to plate, this family grown business has turned fresh produce into a thriving enterprise and with a new location on the map, they’re proving that quality and community will always be in season.
Forget the weekly supermarket run, there’s nothing ordinary about these fruit and veg aisles. At Earth Markets, fresh produce is a passion, customer service is second to none and pricing is competitive. It’s a formula that has locals hooked and now, with their fifth store opening after acquiring a space at Q Super Centre in Mermaid Waters, even more Gold Coasters get to taste the difference.
For Earth Markets General Manager Brian Menke, the business exists to enrich the lives of consumers with locally sourced high-quality produce.
“Health matters, and by keeping things affordable and fresh, we’re helping families put good food on the table without compromise,” he says. “Earth Markets is a genuine alternative to the big players and a place where freshness quality and community all come first.”

The new location isn’t just about convenience for shoppers. It’s also about opportunity, with the Mermaid Waters store creating a wave of local jobs.
The business currently employs more than 170 staff across its Robina, Logan, Elanora and Burleigh stores, with each new location creating roughly 30 roles.
“Our growth means employment opportunities for more people and it’s important to us that we support families and the community in more ways than one,” says Brian.
“Very few businesses have been able to weather the fresh produce industry, and we are proud to be a thriving and successful business that’s active within the communities we serve.”

Health matters, and by keeping things affordable and fresh, we’re helping families put good food on the table.
Since first opening more than twenty years ago, the group has steadily expanded, with plans in place for a further three stores set to generate an additional 90 jobs.
“A part of our vision is to be the premier retailer of fruit and vegetable produce not only across the Gold Coast, but southeast Queensland, northern New South Wales, broader Queensland and beyond,” says Brian. “The upcoming three stores are just the beginning.”
Each location exudes the same energy: crates brimming with glossy apples, market green, tropical fruits, delicatessen goods and gourmet goodies, all sourced from Aussie farmers.
“We work closely with local suppliers across all categories, and our team is at the Rocklea Markets five days a week, sourcing the very best produce,” says Brian.
“All our stores receive two daily deliveries to ensure freshness and maintain the highest quality; that’s what sets us apart.”
And clearly, this approach resonates.
“Right now, more than 29,000 customers shop across our group every week, which shows just how much demand there is for fresh food sourced directly from farmers at fair prices. We are more than just a greengrocer; we are your one-stop shop for all groceries and cooking ingredients, delicatessen goods, gourmet goods, gluten free, vegan, organic goods and more.”
