The picturesque coastal town of Yamba has long been a favourite holiday destination for those in the know for its laid-back atmosphere, stunning natural beauty, and burgeoning food scene.

While the town’s history dates back to the mid-19th century when it served as a port for the region’s timber industry, these days it has evolved into a vibrant community that perfectly balances its small-town seaside charm with modern amenities and attractions.

One of its main drawcards is the abundance of beautiful beaches. Yamba boasts five main beaches, each with its own unique character.

Main Beach, overlooked by the iconic Pacific Hotel, is a popular spot for both swimmers and surfers. It’s a patrolled beach with a kiosk café and an iconic ocean pool carved out of the rocks at its southern end.

For those seeking a more secluded experience, Convent Beach offers a tranquil setting with its golden sands and crystal-clear waters. Dog owners will appreciate the off-leash area at Pippi Beach to the south, where you’ll see plenty of happy pups frolicking in the surf.

No visit to Yamba is complete without a trip to the famous Blue and Green Pools in nearby Angourie. These freshwater pools, formed in old quarries, are a local favourite for swimming and diving.
