Leave the world behind and sink into the Greenhouse the Bathhouse experience.

Nestled in the heart of the stunning Tallebudgera Valley, Greenhouse the Bathhouse’s new locale in the former Tea Vine estate is a gradual descent into relaxation, from the moment you turn down the drive.

With over a hectare of space, the sprawling new premises has enabled the team at Greenhouse the Bathhouse to expand on their former offering, with the wellness retreat boasting magnesium pools, steam room, sauna and cold plunge, and now with the inclusion of six treatment rooms and an on-site restaurant.

Established on the Gold Coast in its former location in 2017, Greenhouse the Bathhouse was first to market with an offering of this kind in the area.

Director and co-owner, Natalie Evans, says that it was her Monday ritual of seeking out a day spa experience that led her and sister Charlotte Evans to dream up the concept.

“Charlotte and I were so busy running our restaurant Greenhouse Kitchen & Bar in Miami, that we’d regularly go and have a day spa on our Mondays off to wind down from the busyness of running a hospitality business,” says Natalie.

“There was nothing on the Gold Coast at that time offering a day spa experience, where you could go and completely switch off.

“Greenhouse the Bathhouse was born from a love of creating spaces that we want to enjoy.”

In their first location at West Burleigh, Natalie, Charlotte and third co-owner Phoebe Vez, grew a cult following for their bathhouse experience.

The business quickly outgrew its former premises, prompting the hunt for a new location.

“It was about two years in that we realised we had outgrown our current space and started looking for a new location,” says Natalie.

“But then COVID-19 hit and put the search on hold.

“After COVID, we came across the old Tea Vine property, which was already a well-known hospitality venue.

“It was almost serendipitous. The property had all the space we needed to expand our offering and already had a great kitchen, so we moved our restaurant Greenhouse Kitchen & Bar to the same site, which we’d always hoped to do.”

The reception to the move has been really wonderful. Our clients say they feel instantly relaxed when they drive onto the property. It really is a stunning spot.

After 6 months of renovations Greenhouse the Bathhouse opened its doors in July this year to a huge reception.

“We have a very loyal client base and they have followed us to our new location,” says Natalie.

“The reception to the move has been really wonderful. Our clients say they feel instantly relaxed when they drive onto the property. It really is a stunning spot.”

The restaurant is entirely plant-based, something which Natalie says their clients often don’t even realise.

“It’s an elevated plant-based, vegan menu. Clients often don’t even realise they are eating plant-based at our restaurant as it’s really special, and we love that we can open their eyes to this way of eating,” says Natalie.

“Our restaurant also boasts an extensive wine and cocktail list, which helps to round out the experience in the best possible way.”

The team at Greenhouse the Bathhouse is most excited about their expanded service offering, which now incorporates six treatment rooms, focusing on therapeutic massage and soon, bespoke facials.

“Our facials are something that our clients are really excited that we will be offering,” says Natalie.

“In the new year we will also be launching retreat packages, where corporate groups, wedding celebrations or birthday parties can enjoy the full Greenhouse experience.

“Groups will spend about six hours on the property enjoying pilates, tai chi and breathwork, a bathhouse soak and an alchemy lesson with our in-house alchemist, creating a bespoke flower essence, facial mist or serum.”

In terms of the space itself, you can tell the team has spent considerable time and effort getting the look and feel of the new premises just right.

Working in collaboration with interior architect and design studio, Studio Yugen, the premises features calming earthy tones and various textures, making the space feel both soothing and inviting.

“We’ve used a lot of natural and linen fabrics throughout our rooms and restaurant, and have made the tiling a real feature throughout,” says Natalie.

“I particularly love our front desk which is tiled in tiny deep reddish-brown mosaic tiles.

“The archways, touches of marble and artwork by painter Darcy McCrae throughout the property create a harmonious flow as you enjoy each of our facilities.

“We’ve spent a lot of time and effort creating the perfect space to come and relax and unwind.”
