This 2011 Mercedes-Benz commercial unleashes the dynamic duo of Formula 1 legends, Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, as they buckle up for the ultimate race against time and diapers.

This turbocharged advert not only revved up the excitement for the start of the 2011 Formula 1 season, but also delivered a pit stop of laughter and unexpected twists.

Titled ‘Compliments’ and based around the motto ‘Racing is a state of mind’, the ad peels out with a soon-to-be father burning rubber to reach the hospital with his heavily pregnant wife in the passenger seat beside him.

Just when you think it’s a routine race against the stork, a roadside breakdown throws a hilarious curveball.

With the couple stranded on the side of the road, their need for help is met with a surprising twist – a CLS 63 AMG approaches and when the driver gets out to lend a hand, it’s none other than Nico Rosberg.

The ad reels viewers into whether they should choose seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher or Nico Rosberg, then, the fastest Mercedes GP driver in the world.

With a wink and a wheel spin, Mercedes-Benz showcases not only their commitment to the thrill of Formula 1, but also their ability to combine the world of motorsport with everyday scenarios, such as the unpredictable journey of parenthood.

As if one Formula 1 driver saving the day wasn’t exciting enough, a second Mercedes-Benz rolls onto the scene and Michael Schumacher steps out of a E 63 AMG.

The couple are now faced with an entirely new dilemma – who’s the designated driver to the delivery room?

The commercial brilliantly morphs a high-stakes F1 rivalry into a light-hearted debate over who can navigate the streets faster, Schumacher or Rosberg.
